SUMMARY:Improv at Canon Frome Court
DESCRIPTION:What happens at Improv? \n\n\n\nThe primary objective is to have fun. We start with simple warm-up games to get to know each other\, and then some exercises to help us create short stories and sketches. If you want to just stand back at any time that’s ok\, but most people want to join in and enjoy the unexpected scenarios that unfold \n\n\n\nWhy come to Improv?Improv helps us to ‘be in the moment’ and free our minds\, it helps us to reconnect with the imagination we had as a child\, and with our imagination we connect with our creative self. Improv helps us to build self-confidence\, develop communication skills\, work as a team\, think outside the box … and yes\, you get all that while having a good time …! \n\n\n\nWho is Improv for? \n\n\n\nImprov is for anyone who wants to ‘give it a go’. You don’t need any drama\, acting or improv experience. Whatever you do\, you are making it up\, and you can’t get anything wrong. You can create anything you want\, and be whoever you want – that’s the fun of it. \n\n\n\nconcessions available | part of a series of dates | Wheelchair access available – please get in touch \n\n\n\nhttps://ticketlab.co.uk/events/fromesoc#/

SUMMARY:Ali Burns: GOLDEN OLDIES at Canon Frome Court
DESCRIPTION:“I’m so excited about this workshop and  diving into my back catalogue of over 500 workshop songs and choosing some of my favourites – many of them not well known as I tend to write a new bank of songs for each year’s workshops and have been doing that for a long time now. Expect to sing some favourite rounds\, partner songs and one or two longer songs. Some you may know\, some not at all. I may even send out some learning files before the weekend so you can have a listen and familiarise yourself with your part before you come – no pressure though – everything will be taught from scratch. \nThe hospitality at Canon Frome is always amazing – fresh coffee and home made cakes and a glorious soup and salad lunch. There’s some indoor accommodation available and room to camp or park a campervan with access to showers for a small fee. Set in the glorious surroundings of the gardens and land around this unique and beautiful community.” \nTIckets now on sale here: \nhttps://beta.snappytickets.co.uk/event/golden-oldies-with-ali-burns/\n

SUMMARY:Uncle Josef's Holiday Camp
DESCRIPTION:Through a series of original ballads rooted in the folk traditions of Ukraine\, Moldova\, Russia & Catford\, Gulag Vakation will entrall you with the fantastic musical story of Uncle Josef’s Holiday Camp. This is an irreverent tale of naked ambition\, cruelty\, endurance\, ingenuity & avarice\, reflecting on much of what’s true of human nature. \nThe songs include some wonderfully evocative titles such as: Fun in the gulag\, Why have you come here & You get right on my tits\, and are supplemented with a lively narration and some recreational games: A little Russian Roulette or perhaps Egalitarian Bingo (the game where everyone looses.) \nOnly because our story is set in a Soviet-era labour camp\, now transformed into an exclusive holiday destination\, you are encouraged to come along wearing your most fetching holiday outfit\, – there’ll be a special prize for the best and some unspeakably cruel punishment for those who can’t be arsed. Judge’s decision is final\, no appeals. \nWelcome to your Gulag Vakation. \nNote: Your screams may be recorded for training purposes.
