SUMMARY:Singing Workshop with Alana Middleton and Georgie Buchanan
DESCRIPTION:Come and sing with Georgie Buchanan and Alana Middleton! On their spring South West tour they will be visiting Canon Frome Court to hold a workshop to bring us together in song. They will be leading harmonies to a selection of uplifting and heart-warming folk songs from Georgie’s debut album\, Wise as a Fool. There will also be moments of relaxation and connection to the voice and body. All welcome\, no singing experience needed. \nInspired by voyages to the Outer Hebrides\, tales of ancient Celtic Goddesses and great folk singers from Peggy Seeger to Joni Mitchell\, Georgie Buchanan is a unique singer and harpist on the contemporary folk scene. \nAlana Middleton is a folk singer\, fiddle player and community music facilitator based in Leeds\, and is inspired to hold spaces where we can celebrate our connection to each other and the land we live upon through music and song. \nComing together with a shared affinity with the natural world and musical expression\, Georgie and Alana will be sharing the beauty of songs and stories to rural communities across the South West through gigs and workshops.

SUMMARY:The Spooky Men at Canon Frome Court
DESCRIPTION:So exciting to have The Spooky Men come to Canon Frome Court!! \n“Big\, bold\, bible-black\, blithersome\, The Spooky Men’s Chorale are the gift that keeps giving. They are impossible to describe\, but let’s try: \nto see them is to be gloriously disturbed…once they have finished\nsmashing you with Thor’s hammer\, they will gently tickle your ribcage\nuntil you are gurgling\, and then sing sonorous vespers into your\nearholesuntil you weep with wonder. Their subject matter is everything\, but especially men\, whom they celebrate and mock with equal vim. They have been at this since 2001\, with 800 shows\, nine tours of the UK and Europe\, and seven CDs. In middle age\, they are finding ever new ways to titillate\, resonate and obfuscate. DESCRIPTION:Gallery and Cafe Open 11am-5pm both weekends 4th to 12th September\nGallery also open weekdays 11-5\nMidday Saturday/Sunday: take a farm tour\n2pm Saturday/Sunday: Hear the story of Angela’s handcrafted banners\n\nThis year’s h.Art event is full-steam ahead!\nHeaded up by Canon Frome artist Nathanael Lamp we will be open every day in this year’s Herefordshire Art Week – with a cafe on both weekends.   \nMore from Nathanael… \n“This will not only be my first time exhibiting but I am helping to coordinate the event at CFC as well. The event might look and feel a little different to years gone by but there will be no shortage of fantastic\, locally-produced art to take in (and take home!). \nWe will have three artists debuting their work at Canon Frome Court during the event on 4th-12th September. Along with myself\, we will exhibit vibrant\, mixed media work by Janet Austen an NHS worker who has resurrected her creative passion over the three lockdowns. And finally painter/printmaker\, Elizabeth Perry\, has recently relocated to Ledbury from Cornwall. Liz creates a beautiful range of paintings and prints based on sketches made during her ramblings. \nAngela Tempany’s textile wall-hangings will also be on display in the gallery.  The three banners inform and celebrate life\, past and present\, at Canon Frome Court and were painstakingly hand-stitched by the long-time resident.” \nMore venue information can be found by going to our venue page on the h.Art website.  \nWe are also part of the ‘Trumpet Trail’ of other local venues –Please share the map and visit us all!
