Canon Frome Court Gallery: h.Art 2022

We are delighted to be taking part in Herefordshire Art Week 2022!

An eclectic and friendly group of artists return to our historic space, with added new artists and work.

Artists:

We’ve got a real range of artists this year which complement each other and the space – truly exciting. Check out their full profiles on our gallery page in the h.Art site, scroll down for a little taster of each artist, and follow our Instagram for more info!

Cafe and Produce:

There will be a pop-up cafe 11-4 on both Weekends serving lunch, teas, coffes and cake.

The produce stall will have sheepskins from our flock, eggs and seasonal produce.

Tours:

Take a tour of the Farm and Grounds at Midday or 3pm on Saturday 3rd / Sunday 4th /Saturday 10th /Sunday 11th September

Workshops:

As well as the workshops below, Anthony McKerr will be demonstrating carving throughout both weekends and all artists will be around to take through their work.

Jan Austin: Mixed Media.

1:30-2.30pm 6th September.
1:30-2.30pm 8th September.
All materials provided, but wear something you are not worried about splashing paint on. Open to everyone with an open mind. £5 donation towards materials. Book via email – jansaustin@me.com (spaces are tight!)

Elizabeth Perry: Sketchwalk

Sunday 4th 2 – 3.30pm
Saturday 10th 10 – 11.30am
All abilities welcome, up to 8 people can be accommodate. £4.
Materials supplied but bring a seat if you think you’ll need it.

Rosie McFarlane: Collage Fun

Sunday 4th Sept. 11.30am-1.00pm
Saturday 10th Sept. 1.30pm-3.00pm
Drop-in workshop for all ages.
Stop by and try your hand at creating a paper collage or postcard to take home. Cut, tear and glue images, colours and words to make a unique art work No charge, but donations accepted for materials.

Anthony McKerr: “Inspired by the themes of beacons, sanctuary and solace. They are a reflection of his life and roots in Belfast, the coastlines of Ireland and Scotland, and the Malvern Hills.”

Jan Austin: “During the first lockdown I returned to creativity to save my sanity, and haven’t stopped since. My work is an abstraction of my response to the environment I live in, alongside the dichotomies of everyday life.”

Nate Lamp: “An American artist working in acrylic and oil. He paints figurative-based pieces characterising his experience growing up in the US. Nate’s subjects are painted loosely, proportions may be distorted and colour is enhanced to express mood.”

Rosemary McFarlane: “In a previous life I was a social worker. Now based in Ledbury after 10 years in East Devon, I continue to paint, collage and, increInfluences are many, really varied and experimental, but countryside, particularly the hills, moors, commons and woods are an abiding passion.”

Elizabeth Perry: “A printmaker and painter focusing mainly on landscape and mood, Liz is a lifelong artist who has studied and worked in Durham, Sunderland, Birmingham, Cornwall and now Herefordshire.”
