Through a series of original ballads rooted in the folk traditions of Ukraine, Moldova, Russia & Catford, Gulag Vakation will entrall you with the fantastic musical story of Uncle Josef’s Holiday Camp. This is an irreverent tale of naked ambition, cruelty, endurance, ingenuity & avarice, reflecting on much of what’s true of human nature.

The songs include some wonderfully evocative titles such as: Fun in the gulag, Why have you come here & You get right on my tits, and are supplemented with a lively narration and some recreational games: A little Russian Roulette or perhaps Egalitarian Bingo (the game where everyone looses.)

Only because our story is set in a Soviet-era labour camp, now transformed into an exclusive holiday destination, you are encouraged to come along wearing your most fetching holiday outfit, – there’ll be a special prize for the best and some unspeakably cruel punishment for those who can’t be arsed. Judge’s decision is final, no appeals.
